Gregg Wiele has spent 17 years with Patina Restaurant Group developing, inspiring, and driving the landscape of outstanding culinary offerings throughout its West Coast restaurants, museums, performing arts centers, and world-class catering division as Corporate Executive Chef.
A native Angeleno, Wiele grew up in sunny Southern California landscape with his family. While pursuing academics, Wiele began looking for work in order to pay for a new Mustang he had his eye on and received a call for a driving job with Patina Catering. Within a week the company was impressed by his ambition, quick learning abilities, and professional demeanor, and presented him the opportunity to begin learning alongside many award-winning chefs as a prep cook. With Master Chef Joachim Splichal as a mentor, Wiele found his way as Sous Chef for the elite, Michelin-starred restaurant Patina Restaurant and, eventually, an Executive Chef with the illustrious Patina Catering division.
Wiele now presides over the entire West Coast's catering operations at various landmark locations, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Music Center of Los Angeles County, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Orange County Performing Arts Center overseeing culinary direction for elite galas and events like the Television Academy's Emmy® Awards, Hollywood Bowl Gala, Creative Awards and Governor's Ball, the Academy Awards, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic gala.
