Beauty & Essex
Chef Kyle Kingrey began his career in the kitchen at the age of 16 as a dishwasher and prep cook in Asheville, NC, before ascending to line cook at Beno's Cabin in Beaver Creek Colorado. By the age of 20, Kingrey had honed his craft under such accomplished chefs as Hans Lentz, Jurgen Knorr, and Francois Ternes.
At 25, Kingrey assumed his first Executive Chef position for the opening of Mountain Air Country Club in the mountains of North Carolina. After stints at Starr Boggs in Westhampton Beach, Villa Madeleine in St. Croix USVI, and The Buccaneer Resort, Kingrey moved to New York City where he was Chef/Partner at Vespa and Bar Vespa.
Kingrey first met Chef Chris Santos when he moved to Las Vegas in 2008 to help open Lavo Las Vegas. The timing wasn't right for further collaboration but they agreed they wanted to work together again. Kingrey went on to open the M Resort in Las Vegas as well as Fornelleto at at the Borgata before Kingrey and Santos finally re-united to create Beauty & Essex in New York City. In 2013, Kingrey left New York to helm the kitchen at Seven Stars resort in Turks & Caicos before being lured back to New York City to re-join Chef Santos and the TAO Group as Corporate Executive Chef to help open Beauty & Essex Las Vegas, Beauty & Essex Hollywood and VANDAL in New York City.
